ABOUT US

simplicity is beautiful

My name is Rachel and alongside my partner Mick I've been filming weddings since 2009.

Our wedding filming has taken us all over the world for which we are eternally grateful. Four years ago I started Rachel Owen Wedding Films to develop my own style of wedding film alongside our international brand Moviart Films.

With an emphasis on unobtrusive documentary filming both Mick & I believe shooting solo is to the key to the least intrusion on your wedding day but a second cinematographer option is always there for larger weddings or more extensive coverage.

The most important element to creating our work is capturing the real moments beautifully to craft a timeless wedding film from the true emotion of the day.

OUR APPROACH

Wedding films used to be uncool, intrusive and dated, not any more. I use tiny cameras probably smaller than your photographers and my aim is to make the minimum of impact on your wedding day, hopefully most guests won’t even realise you are having your wedding filmed.

…and the end product? Forget the boring long wedding films your parents had to endure. My films are short, crammed with detail and emotion and you still get the full ceremony and full speech edits but you don’t have to sit through them every time you watch your wedding film.

How many filmakers are there on the day?

Usually we work solo but you always have the option to book another cinematographer for a larger weddings or specific events you would like capturing.

Do you stage any shots, there are bride and groom shots that look like they may be posed in some of the films?

I normally spend 5 minutes or so with the photographer during the couple shoot or just ask for a little time for a walk around to capture some natural footage of you together alone. None of this is posed it's just you being yourselves and I work around you :)

How long are the final films?

I normally offer a trailer, feature and your full ceremony and speeches, full details of these can be found on our pricing page

How long will it be before we receive our completed wedding films?

Production is normally 4-8 weeks depending on the time of year, sometimes sooner, very rarely any later but I always keep you informed on progress.
